From April 27 to 28, a Party and government delegation from Jilin Province visited Sichuan for research and study. On the morning of April 28, a symposium on exchanges and cooperation between Sichuan and Jilin provinces was held in Chengdu. Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, presided over and addressed the symposium. Jing Junhai, Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Jilin Provincial People's Congress, attended and addressed the symposium. Huang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and Hu Yuting, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Jilin Province, introduced the economic and social advancements of their respective provinces. Tian Xiangli, Chairperson of the CPPCC Sichuan Provincial Committee, and Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, attended related activities.

In his speech, Wang Xiaohui, on behalf of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, welcomed the Party and government delegation of Jilin Province to visit Sichuan and expressed gratitude to Jilin for its long-term support and help to Sichuan. He said that, despite the geographical distance between Sichuan and Jilin, the two provinces have long maintained close and supportive ties, and from Jilin's immediate aid during the Wenchuan earthquake to both provinces' shared efforts and mutual support during the COVID-19 pandemic, all these instances reflect the enduring and profound bond between Sichuan and Jilin. Recently, General Secretary Xi Jinping chaired the symposium on boosting the development of China's western region in the new era and delivered an important speech. He particularly requested the western region to serve and align with regional major strategic initiatives and deepen pragmatic cooperation with the eastern, central and northeastern regions, providing fundamental guidance for us to enhance high-level regional collaboration. Sichuan and Jilin are pivotal provinces in the national strategies of the new era, with Sichuan focusing on the development of the western region and Jilin on the full revitalization of northeast China. In recent years, Jilin has notably advanced its revitalization and development, with numerous successful practices and experiences that merit our thorough study and emulation. We believe that through collaborative efforts, the partnership between Sichuan and Jilin will indeed bear fruitful outcomes. Leveraging signing a series of cooperation agreements as a pivotal moment, we are ready to work with Jilin Province to further enhance strategic synergy, tap into complementarity, deepen comprehensive exchanges, and jointly forge a new era of cooperation between Sichuan and Jilin. We hope both provinces jointly foster industrial cooperation, expand the bilateral investment layout, deepen the integration between Jilin's "six new industries" and Sichuan's six advantageous industries, and conduct collaborative research to achieve scientific and technological breakthroughs and transformation of sci-tech outcomes, working together to nurture the growth of new quality productive forces. We hope both provinces jointly foster opening-up and cooperation, enhance the integration of businesses, brands and outcomes in major events, and collectively establish a high-level open platform, working together to construct a new development pattern. We hope both provinces jointly advance agricultural collaboration, further integrate the production, supply and marketing of key agricultural commodities, and coordinate efforts to establish regional labels for high-quality agrarian products, working together to safeguard national food security. We hope both provinces jointly promote cultural and tourism cooperation, enhance synergies in market promotion, resource complementarity, and tourist exchange, and deepen cooperation in fields such as film production, traditional opera, animation, gaming, and cultural innovation, working together to stimulate the potential of domestic consumption.

In his speech, Jing Junhai, on behalf of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Jilin Province, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to Sichuan for its sustained strong support and assistance to Jilin. He said that since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, General Secretary Xi Jinping has visited Sichuan several times and mapped out a great blueprint for Sichuan's development. Sichuan Province, mindful of the instructions entrusted to it and advancing with gratitude and determination, has been firmly promoting the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and the strategic vision of "synchronized development of new industrialization, information technology application, urbanization, and agricultural modernization, urban-rural integration, and common prosperity of five zones," leading to new achievements and a new dynamism in the development of "two highlands, two bases, and one shield." We are deeply inspired and impressed by Sichuan's remarkable accomplishments in pursuing high-quality economic and societal development. Our visit to Sichuan aims to absorb and emulate the effective practices and experiences of Sichuan, integrate them into our work, motivate all levels of officials in our province to excel, and elevate the standard of Jilin's work to a new stage. The Western Development Strategy and the Full Revitalization of Northeast China are key national initiatives General Secretary Xi Jinping persistently emphasizes. Both Sichuan and Jilin bear significant political responsibilities entrusted to them by General Secretary Xi Jinping and undertake important strategic missions. The deep alignment between the full revitalization of northeast China and the development of the western region has opened up substantial opportunities and expansive space for collaboration between the two provinces. Embarking on a new journey in the new era, we are ready to work with Sichuan to effectively implement the spirit of the important speeches and instructions by General Secretary Xi Jinping, further strengthen strategic alignment, deepen interactive communication, tap into complementarity, and enable new advancements in Jilin-Sichuan cooperation to support the Chinese modernization. First, we hope both provinces jointly drive the mutual enhancement and integration of industrial development, continuously strengthen cooperation in key areas such as automotive, aerospace information, modern agriculture, and cultural tourism, and collaboratively ensure the security and stability of the industrial and supply chains. Second, we hope both provinces jointly foster the exchange and mutual utilization of innovative achievements, to nurture a greater number of high-quality productive forces and to better support the nation's endeavors to achieve self-reliance in high-level science and technology. Third, we hope both provinces jointly enhance the connectivity in their opening up efforts and reinforce collaboration and resource sharing among major expos, platforms and corridors, to promote the high-level opening-up to a new stage that bridges the southwest and northeast of our nation, creating a "golden diagonal" for China's development.

During the symposium, in the presence of the leaders from both provinces, the two sides signed the Framework Agreement on Deepening Cooperation between the People's Government of Jilin Province and the People's Government of Sichuan Province and several cooperative agreements between relevant departments (units) of the two provinces.

While in Sichuan, the Party and government delegation of Jilin Province visited the National Supercomputing Center in Chengdu, met with guests from Sichuan's cultural and tourism enterprises, and held activities such as the Jilin-Sichuan entrepreneur symposium and the Jilin provincial cultural and tourism promotion event.

Leaders of Sichuan Province Chen Wei, Dong Weimin, Zhao Junmin, Hu Yun, Zheng Bei, leaders of Jilin Province Hu Jiafu, Cai Dong, Zhang Enhui, Li Wei, Fan Ruiping, Li Guoqiang, Yang Andi, Mayor of Chengdu Municipality Wang Fengchao, leading officials from relevant cities and departments of the two provinces, and among others, participate in related activities.
